Today was just another day in the **classroom of the world** for Dalia and our family. Everything was set for a beautiful educational adventure — except for one important concern.
The tour operator did **not have proper life jackets**.
As a **Master Recreational Scuba Diving Instructor and Coral Reef Conservation Instructor with PADI**, this immediately raised red flags. Proper safety equipment is a fundamental part of responsible marine operations and environmental education.
Fortunately, **Dalia had her own life jacket**, in excellent condition, which provided her with safety, comfort, and confidence during her snorkeling experience. Sometimes, as professionals and parents, we are faced with difficult decisions. To allow Dalia to experience her **first snorkeling adventure and coral reef conservation learning**, Mervin made do with a damaged life jacket — prioritizing Dalia’s safety while navigating real-world imperfections.
This moment itself became part of the lesson.

Despite the challenge, the experience unfolded into something truly special. Guided by her parents, Dalia explored the **vibrant coral reefs of Tumbatu Island**, learning firsthand about:
